Greetings!

First things first, the guild is named after Ender Wiggins who is the main character of one of the best sci-fi book I have ever read. If you like the genre, I could not recommend this book strongly enough!

Ender is a raiding guild on the Lothar server founded early December 2006. It aims at providing a home and a raiding infrastructure for gaming enthusiasts to explore the content Blizzard worked hard to create. Ender is about going from raid instance to raid instance, at our own pace, defeating encounters after encounters and acquiring the items required to keep this cycle going.

The members of Ender are driven and motivated to beat stuff just because it's there. While loot is an integral part of progression in this game, if it is the main appeal to you I'm sure there's a guild for you out there but it's not Ender.

Raiding:

  • The guild will host official raids on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (except RL holidays). Attendance to those raids is mandatory if you are online. The raid will start (i.e. buffing & pulling) as close to 8h30pm as possible and will end as close to midnight as possible.

  • While there is no set attendance rule, Ender has an expectation of 75% attendance for our four raid days. Should we find ourselves unable to fill all the raid slots for specific classes, steps will be taken including the possible replacement of members with low attendance.

  • The raid leader is responsible for setting up the most successful raid line up possible. For this reason, raid invites will be entirely at the raid leader's discretion. There's no sign up page, there's no first come/first served. Invites will start at 15 minutes before first pull.

  • Members are expected to bring their main character whenever they attend an official raid. In some cases, it would be possible for the raid leader to ask a member to play an alternate character for the raid's sake but we'll plan our membership to minimize those cases.

  • As raiders, you are expected to read about the encounters we will be facing. The raid leaders will cover the finer points of our specific strategies but you shouldn't need anything but a quick summary of the fight to be productive.

  • While 100% attendance is not a requirement, 100% focus certainly is! There will be hurdles on the way and we will trip on them. Let's just make sure we don't keep tripping on the same ones. The only thing that could prevent us from being at the forefront going through the new content is ourselves!

Loot System:

  • Ender is using the EP/GP loot system for most items.  Indeed, officers may override the system to ensure those rare best-in-slot items find their way to the optimal raider

  • We realize that depending on the raid target and strategies elected by our raid leaders, raiders might be left out of a raid by no fault of their own. For that reason, raiders who did not make the raid but keep themselves available will receive full credit just as if they were in the raid.

Recruitment:

  • Guild applications will be accepted privately through the Private Messaging system of the message board.

  • Applicants may be invited to the guild for a 4 weeks probation period. The obvious purpose of the probation is for us to see the potential members in action and for them to see the guild. During that period, applicants will be required to attend 75%+ of raids and will be encouraged to group up with members on non-raiding days. In the same fashion, on non-raiding days, please go out of your way to try to invite applicants into your groups.

  • Applicants will accrue their full share of DKP during their trial period although they will be restricted in what they can use it for. Priority on loot will go to members but should an item go unclaimed by any members, applicants are more than welcome to it. An item will always been more helpful in the hands of someone using it to strengthen the raid than as a void crystal in the guild bank. We strive to avoid disenchanting items as much as possible.

  • At the end of the trial period, the officers will make the final decision. Applicants will either be removed from the guild with ample justification, or they will be promoted to full membership. Let's just be very clear on what full membership means here. If someone goes through the application screening and the guild screening, they totally deserve our trust. From that point on, they are members and, given our loot system and the points they accrued during the trial, it is to be expected that they will start acquiring items very quickly. Be mentally prepared to be overbid by new members, it WILL happen; they have paid their dues.

  • Be aware that we're not only inviting 'you' to the guild; we're inviting your 'avatar'. The point being that 'you' happen to have an attitude we like and 'you' happen to play a class and a role we have need for. There will be no changing of 'mains' or of 'role' unless the change is approved by the officers ahead of time.

Membership:

  • Membership of the guild is not a right; it's a privilege. We are happily welcoming you amongst us but will just as readily kick you out if you don't play nice.

  • Keep the drama to a minimum. Shit happens and things need to be discussed but this is no place for inflammatory posts, name calling and generally disrespectful behavior. Keep your energy for beating content in game and try to get along with your fellow guildies. They will be the ones standing by your side when shit is about to hit the fan. Get in touch with officers if you can't seem to work out your differences and, hopefully, we can reach a solution other than kicking the both of you out.

  • Ender will not dictate how to spec your main character as there should be no need to. Every member of this guild should be focused on progressing through end-game content and should be smart enough to identify the best spec possible to achieve just that. Feel free to PvP as much as you possibly want but do not expect the guild to take you bringing your PvP spec/gear into raid instances lightly. If you are not sure how to maximize your contribution, be sure to contact your fellow classmates (scotch).
